The LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), has officially invited online applications for the prestigious LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026–27. A nationwide total of 13,440 scholarships are offered to meritorious students hailing from economically weaker families to pursue higher education in medicine, engineering, graduation, diploma, and technical vocational courses.

Each of the 112 LIC Divisional Offices across the country will disburse 120 individual scholarships across General and Special categories with annual grants reaching up to Rs. 50,000/- per year. Scholarship Categories & Financial Assistance Slabs

The scholarship is divided into two primary categories based on qualifying examinations and courses of study:

Eligibility Criteria

1. General Scholarship (Post Class 12 / Diploma Level)

  • Academic Background: Must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the academic years 2023–24, 2024–25, or 2025–26.
  • Current Admission: Candidate must have secured admission into the 1st year of a regular degree course (Medicine, Engineering, Commerce, Science, Arts) or government-recognized diploma/ITI course during the 2026–27 academic session.
  • Family Income: Total annual parental/family income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 4,50,000/- per annum.

2. Special Scholarship for Girl & Boy Students (Post Class 10 Level)

  • Academic Background: Passed Class 10 with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade in 2023–24, 2024–25, or 2025–26.
  • Current Enrollment: Admitted into the 1st year of Class 11 (Intermediate) or vocational/diploma program for 2026–27.
  • Family Income: Annual household income must be equal to or below Rs. 4.50 Lakh.

Selection Process & Verification

  1. Divisional Allocation: Online applications are automatically sorted to the applicant's respective LIC Divisional Office based on their residential PIN code.
  2. Merit Ranking: Eligible applicants within each division are ranked strictly in order of academic merit and income criteria.
  3. Divisional Quota: Each of the 112 LIC Divisions awards 120 scholarships (80 for Graduation/Professional courses and 40 for Class 10+2 level).
  4. Physical Document Verification: Shortlisted students are notified via official email to present their original mark sheets, income certificates, and bank passbooks at the local LIC Divisional or Branch office.
  5. Direct Bank Transfer: Approved scholarship funds are disbursed directly into the student's verified bank account via NEFT/DBT.
