Eligibility Criteria & Requirements
- Secondary School Examination (10th Standard): Candidates must have passed the 10th standard exam with passing marks in Mathematics and English conducted by any recognized Board of School Education.
- Compulsory Knowledge of Local Language: The candidate should have studied the local language (e.g., Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo for Assam Circle) at least up to 10th standard.
- Computer Knowledge: Basic computer training course certificate of at least 60 days duration from a recognized computer training institute (relaxed if computer was studied as a subject in school/college).
- Cycling Knowledge: Knowledge of cycling is a prerequisite condition for all GDS posts (use of motorcycle/scooter also treated as knowledge of cycling).
Age Limit & Relaxations
Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 21st September 2026. Permissible relaxations in upper age limit are as follows:

Selection Methodology
Selection will be purely based on the system-generated merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in 10th standard approved boards to 4 decimal places. No weightage will be given for higher educational qualifications.

- All Female Candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and Transwomen: NIL (Exempted)
