Eligibility Criteria for Canara Bank Apprenticeship
1. Educational Qualification
- Degree Requirement: Candidates must hold a recognized Graduate Degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Passing Date Window: Candidates must have passed their graduation examination between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 (both days inclusive). Those who completed graduation prior to 2023 or are awaiting final semester results are not eligible.
2. Age Limit (as on 01.09.2026)
- Age Range: 20 to 28 Years.
- Candidates must have been born between 02.09.1998 and 01.09.2006 (both dates inclusive).

3. Local Language Proficiency
- Candidates must be proficient in the official local language of the state they choose to apply for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Exemption: Candidates who have studied the specified local language as a subject in their 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate are exempt from appearing in the separate local language test.
- For all other applicants, a qualifying local language test will be administered during Document Verification.
Monthly Stipend & Training Period
- Training Duration: Strictly 1 Year (12 months) under the Apprenticeship Act.
- Consolidated Stipend: Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 16,650/- (inclusive of Government of India subsidy).
- Note: Apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent absorption or employment with the Bank, though it provides certified banking industry experience.

Selection Process
Selection will be carried out without a conventional written examination, following the merit guidelines below:
- Merit Preparation: State-wise merit lists will be prepared based on marks secured in Class 12th (10+2 / Intermediate) or Diploma examination. Minimum required percentage is 60% for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates (percentages will not be rounded off).
- Tie-Breaking: If two or more candidates obtain identical percentages, the candidate older in age will be placed higher on the merit rank.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present all original educational and reservation certificates.
- Local Language Test: Non-exempted candidates must clear the proficiency test in the designated local language.
- Medical Examination: Final engagement is subject to being certified medically fit by a designated medical officer.
