Eligibility Criteria for Land Record Assistant
Prospective applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions as on the crucial cut-off date:
- Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
- Educational Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent in Arts, Science, or Commerce stream from a recognized Council or Board.
- Computer Knowledge: Must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application (MS Office, Spreadsheets, Internet, Data Entry) from an institute recognized by the Government.
- Language Proficiency: Candidate must have adequate working knowledge and speaking ability in Assamese or the local language of the respective district.
- Employment Exchange: Valid registration in an Employment Exchange of Assam is required.
Age Limit & Relaxations
Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 1st January 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per the extant Government of Assam rules:

Selection Procedure
The recruitment for Land Record Assistant will be conducted through a competitive two-phase evaluation process:
- Written Examination (OMR-based / CBT): 100 Marks objective type test covering General English (30 Marks), General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning (20 Marks), and Basics of Computer Knowledge (20 Marks).
- Computer Practical / Skill Test: 50 Marks practical test assessing MS Word, MS Excel, internet usage, and typing speed for candidates shortlisted based on written test merit.
- Document Verification: Final verification of certificates, PRC, Employment Exchange card, and category credentials.
