Eligibility Criteria for POWERGRID Recruitment
Educational Qualifications
Note: Higher qualifications, such as B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME or postgraduate degrees, are not permitted for these positions.
1. Diploma Trainee (Electrical)
- Number of Posts: 600
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have a full-time, regular three-year diploma in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines such as Electrical (Power), Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Engineering, or Power Engineering (Electrical).
- The diploma must be from a recognized Technical Board/Institute.
- Minimum Marks Required:
- General/OBC (NCL)/EWS: 70% marks
- SC/ST/PwBD: Pass marks.
2. Diploma Trainee (Civil)
- Number of Posts: 66
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must hold a full-time, regular three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Technical Board/Institute.
- Minimum Marks Required:
- General/OBC (NCL)/EWS: 70% marks
- SC/ST/PwBD: Pass marks.
4. Junior Officer Trainee (Finance and Accounts)
- Number of Posts: 35
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have successfully completed Inter CA (Chartered Accountant) or Inter CMA (Cost and Management Accountant).
5. Assistant Trainee (Finance and Accounts)
- Number of Posts: 22
- Educational Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com.) from a recognized Institute/University is required.
- Minimum Marks Required:
- General/OBC (NCL)/EWS: 60% marks
- SC/ST/PwBD: Pass marks.
3. Junior Officer Trainee (Human Resource)
- Number of Posts: 79
- Educational Qualification:
- Applicants must have a full-time, three-year Graduate degree in Business Administration (BBA), Business Management (BBM), Business Studies (BBS), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institute or University.
- Minimum Marks Required:
- General/EWS/OBC (NCL): 60% marks
- SC/ST/PwBD: Pass marks.
Age Limit (As of 12th November 2024)
- Maximum Age: 27 years for all positions.
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years (additional relaxation based on category)

Selection Process
The selection process consists of a Written Test/Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Computer Skill Test (wherever applicable) and a Pre-Employment Medical Examination.

Exam Pattern:
- Duration: 2 hours
- Sections:
- Part I: 120 Questions (Technical Knowledge/Professional Knowledge)
- Part II: 50 Questions (Aptitude - English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, etc.)
- Negative Marking: ¼ for each incorrect answer
