Age Relaxations: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.

2. Educational Qualifications

  • Navik (General Duty): 10+2 (Class 12th) passed with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by COBSE.
  • Navik (Domestic Branch): Class 10th (Matriculation) passed from an education board recognized by COBSE.
  • Yantrik: Class 10th passed along with a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering approved by AICTE; OR Class 10th and 12th passed with a 2 or 3-year AICTE-approved engineering diploma.
  • Hygienist-I: Matriculation (Class 10th) passed OR ITI or equivalent from a recognized State/Central Board.

Selection Process (Four Successive Stages)

  1. Stage-I: Computer Based Examination (CBE): Objective Computer-Based Test comprising 100 Multiple Choice Questions (100 Marks, 60 Minutes). No negative marking. Qualifying score is 40% for UR/EWS/OBC and 35% for SC/ST.
  2. Stage-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Test: Conducted at designated ICG Recruitment Centres:
    • 1.6 km run to be completed within 7 minutes.
    • 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak).
    • 10 Push-ups and bent-knee sit-ups.
    • Assessment & Adaptability Test (qualifying in nature).
    • Initial Document Verification and Biometric capture.
  3. Stage-III: INS Chilka Pre-Enrolment & Medicals: Verification of original credentials and comprehensive pre-enrolment medical examination conducted by Armed Forces Medical Officers at INS Chilka.
  4. Stage-IV: Final Document Verification & Induction: Detailed authentication of educational certificates, character testimonials, and category proofs prior to formal training commencement.
